Today marked the first day of first grade for Mackenzie, the first day of fifth grade for Zachary, and the first day as a high schooler (ninth grade) for Nathaniel.

On March 21, Nathaniel participated with other members of Knapp Charter Academy’s Chess Club at the Holland Junior Open on the campus of Hope College. Competition was tough, but Nathaniel enjoyed his time playing other players his age. The Holland Sentinel posted a nice article on the tournament (link).
We braved the cold windy night to take in some trick-or-treating and a trip to Krispy Kreme Doughnuts for our free doughnut. All in all we had a good night. Happy Halloween everyone!
